There are many people want to know if 50 Cent was trying to dis Jay-Z on his new mixtape track “Flight 187.” 50 cent explained about why he compared Hov to sitcom character Steve Urkel and they saw the glasses. I didn’t have Photoshop glasses. Mostly people think Jay is really conscious of his actual moves in Flight 187. 50 cent does those all things to make a statement in different ways to create clarity that he doesn’t have to be the way people want him to be.
Fif noted that he mentioned Britney Spears and even members of his own musical family on the songs especially Flight 187, but everyone gravitated toward the Hov line because Blueprint 3 has a huge buzz.
I even wrote that they made me a star and Dre is taking a long time to mix my records. I gotta talk to them about it.’ I have written about Britney Spears. I said a lot of interesting things on the record, but they focus on him because his song Flight 187 album is releasing. Of course, with those marketing dollars being spent, he’s the focus.
Footage from50 Cents upcoming movie Streets of Blood has leaked online and shows the rapper working as an undercover cop alongside Val Kilmer. Watch Streets of Blood trailer. This film was filmed in New Orleans.
50 Cent is set to launch his debut signature fragrance called Power which is scheduled for a worldwide launch in 2010. According to 50 Cent, it “smells like success”.
Power was developed by perfumer Harry Fremont. The notes feature lemon leaves, black pepper, artemisia, dark woods, coriander, nutmeg, patchouli, musk and oakmoss.
The scent was designed to have broad, even “universal” appeal going beyond the frontiers of the USA and American taste preferences. 50 Cent commented that from where he comes from, i.e., South Jamaica in Queens, N.Y, the perfume culture amongst his old friends is pretty much restricted to Right Guard.
Rick Hert, director of the West Michigan Film Office, said overall, the shoot went “real well.” He visited the set a few times, including Friday’s action-heavy sequence, which took place on a dead-end section of Front Avenue by an abandoned building, near US-131 and Fulton Street.
“There were police cars and shots fired — it was great fun,” Hert said. “It had low impact on the city, and low impact as far as noise goes.”
“Crossfire” is the directorial debut by East Grand Rapids native Brian Miller. It also was the first film from 50 Cent’s new Cheetah Vision production company, which he formed with producer Randall Emmett.
Hert said the “Crossfire” production employed 33 crew members, 25 of them from Grand Rapids.
“The good thing is, the more features we get, the more experience local workers get,” Hert said. “Talking to the crew on set, some of them are on their second or third movie.”
Emmett and 50 Cent (real name: Curtis Jackson) talked about bringing their next feature, a remake of “Jekyll and Hyde,” to Grand Rapids in the fall. Forest Whitaker has signed on to co-star with 50 Cent, and Abel Ferrara (”Bad Lieutenant”) will direct.
Also likely to start filming locally is “Tribes of October,” the new CGI-heavy green-screen feature starring Ray Stevenson, Robert Duvall and James Caan, from Cinepro Pictures, which produced “The Chaos Experiment.” FYI, Amazon lists an Aug. 4 release date for the “Chaos” DVD.
Cinepro reps already have said they were likely to film in the convention center at DeVos Place, and Hert said things are “looking positive” for shooting to begin in Aug.
“We’ve answered a lot of questions from the production company,” he said. “It’s looking good.”
Finally, “Hopeful Notes,” which filmed locally in February and March, is in post-production, and a new Web site features stills from the movie.
In early April, Rick Ross, the Miami-born rapper known for highlighting his coke-dealing past, found himself in Medellin, Colombia—a city known for its coke-dealing. Sporting a white linen suit, his staple dark shades and an iced-out bracelet, Ross was filming the video for the single “All I Really Want.” At one point, a sun-kissed woman wearing a gold bra-and-panty set caressed the shoulders of the 300-pound self-proclaimed boss as he sat on the edge of his bed, overlooking the city.
Last weekend, when he shot a video for the promo single “Cold Blood,” Ross traded the sunshine of Medellin for the darker tones of a funeral parlor. Clad in a black suit, black leather gloves and another pair of shades, he sat in a back pew and watched a makeshift ceremony. It was a memorial for the death of Curtis Jackson, aka 50 Cent.
Since the beginning of this year, Ross and 50 Cent have taken verbal and visual jabs at each other. While this beef hasn’t—and hopefully won’t—escalate to physical confrontations, the release of Ross’s first promo single “Mafia Music” led to an onslaught of Web-released diss tracks, cartoon spoofs, comedy skits, music videos, photos, Web sites and more from both sides.
The real winner may be Universal Music Group, which owns Island Def Jam and Interscope, the labels the rappers are signed to. Since the dispute started in January, the sales of Ross’ two previous albums have increased by 62%, while sales of 50 Cent’s three catalog titles grew by 74%, according to Nielsen SoundScan. And the more that bloggers wrote about the battle, according to the online chatter tracker Nielsen BuzzMetrics, the more the two artists reaped the benefits. “Deeper Than Rap” looks as though it will debut atop the Billboard 200 next week with sales of about 150,000 copies.
“For Ross, the beef actually elevated him to a national platform, but his music is incredible enough to back it up,” says Chris Atlas, senior VP of marketing for IDJ, Ross’ label. “If it was just purely beef and we had wack music, there’s nothing to sell. But the beef got him even more national attention, and when those who hadn’t checked for him went out and heard his previous music, Ross was able to back it up. And now, controversy aside, the music is speaking for him. There is a lot of anticipation for this album.”
Hip-hop star 50 CENT is promoting his new video game as an educational tool for children – despite its violent and sexual content.
50 CENT: BULLETPROOF has been rated mature, deeming it “not suitable” for children under the age of 17, in America.
But the rapper, real name CURTIS JACKSON, insists parents should buy the game for their kids because it will teach them right from wrong.
He says, “Just because it is rated mature doesn’t mean you shouldn’t buy it for your kids. Play the game and explain to them what they are playing.
“I think everyone knows that a game is a game. There’s the part where you actually press start on the controller – after that you are playing a game.
“The person that’s influenced by a video game can be influenced by anything.
“If we have to take away video games, then we have to think about other things. And then we have no entertainment because we might influence somebody who’s crazy.”
In the recently-released game, the IN DA CLUB rapper, who has a nine-year-old son, is depicted making his way through New York City’s crime underworld with armed guards and guns blazing.
50 CENT has been absolved of any involvement in the fatal shooting which took place at a US screening of his new movie GET RICH OR DIE TRYIN’ earlier this month (09NOV05).
Police have charged 30-year-old LARUE GRAVES with murder and now believe the shootout, which left SHELDON FLOWERS dead, stemmed from an unresolved argument which had simmered since the pair served a jail sentence together.
Flowers, 30, was shot three times in the cinema multiplex after viewing the controversial movie.
50 Cent, real name CURTIS JACKSON, expressed his sadness at the time saying, “I feel for the victim’s family in this situation.”
The cinema in question has now stopped showing Get Rich Or Die Tryin’.
50 Cent has signed on for role in the upcoming movie “Twelve,” according to Variety. The new film, directed by Joel Schumacher (Batman and Robin), is an adaptation of Nick McDonell’s novel of the same name. Following the life of rich high school drop out turned drug dealer who deals with the murder of his cousin allegedly by his best friend.
The G-Unit general will share the big screen with the start of the hit television show “24,” Kiefer Sullivan, Ellen Barken, Rory Culkin and Chace Crawford. The new film will start production on April 20th in New York and is expected to hit theaters in the winter of 2010.
In related news, 50 Cent was recently replaced in an upcoming Sylvester Stallone movie. Last week Stalone said he was replacing Forrest Whitaker with the G-Unit leader but now another report says that Rocky will be using Terry Crews instead. The movie in question will hit theaters next year and also star Arnold Schwarzenegger
Rick Ross experienced a rush of publicity leading up to the Tuesday release of his third album, Deeper Than rap, with the anthem-like hits “Magnificent” and “Maybach Music 2″ and his war of worlds with 50 Cent.
But the Miami artist is being accused of ratcheting up the beef to promote his project — just as Fif has been accused in the past. Ross denied the claim when he sat down with MTV News in New York, although he did call the situation “a platform for me.”
“You don\’t think about the marketing,” Ross said of the feud, which went public in January of this year with the release off his track “Mafia Music” “See, first of all, you know it\’s not about marketing, but most definitely the difference in this situation is that I was much more prepared than anyone anticipated [in the feud], being that all my moves have been pluses. I released \’Mafia Music,\’ not only was it a classic record, but it\’s a single on my album. We shot a video, so we getting our point across, and not only that, but we are making timeless records.Read full story 50 cent
