Eminem fell off the radar for a few years before finally resurfacing earlier this year. He’s talked about his addiction to prescription drugs before, but we never knew to what extent it had gotten to until now.
Em says he “100 percent” identities with the late Michael Jackson, who died of acute Propofol intoxication, because he could only function or sleep if he had taken prescription medication.
He said: “When you read things about Michael Jackson it’s hard to decipher what the f**k is true, but there’s the story of how he woke up at whatever time and he needed something to go back to sleep because he had this or that and it didn’t work. That’s exactly what used to happen to me: I would take a couple of pills and I would be up an hour later and I’d want more.”
“Then I’d take more and that would be enough to maybe get me back to sleep for two more hours. Then I’d be wide awake again. So I definitely can relate, and it’s a shame if he didn’t have anybody there to just say, ‘Michael, you’re an addict, you need help.’ ”
It really is a shame that more people didn’t try to help Michael. His family said they tried to stage an intervention “once,” but they should have tried every single day because they knew how bad his addiction had gotten.
He added to Complex magazine:
“I feel better. I feel like a human being again. There was one point in time where I felt like plastic. “I think I looked plastic. My face was like fat plastic. I was eating, but the Vicodin made me hungry because it eats up your stomach lining, so you want to fill your stomach back up, but then it stops you up so you can’t s**t. That’s why I was gaining so much weight, I was just so f***ing bloated.”
We may have lost Michael, but hopefully his story will be a wakeup call to others who have spiraled out of control in regards to prescription medication.

He won the race the judges concluded
He was the better man, he’d come from victory
A hesitation a one time show or place
His self would not allow he had to be the best
He had denied his urges cause they would of
Drained his strength that battle had been one
With side effects a few
He may have dropped the world
He could not have let us down
Dana I hope she’s in a better place
She aced the test a grade above the rest
She felt the curve
A 93% was not enough to feed her fix
She needs that perfect score
The endorphin rush she loved
It would opiate her
She had denied all allegations of her loneliness
That battle had been won with scars still under wraps
She may have dropped the world
She would not let us down
Endorphin rush she loved
She may have dropped the world
Way back in October 2007, Lil Wayne told Mixtape Monday he had the perfect track for him and Eminem to get down on. At the time, Slim Shady was on hiatus from music.
But now, with an album already released this year and in the midst of completing another one, Em and Wayne have finally gotten together for a song. Sure, they both had verses on this year’s “Forever,” but that was a Drake track, and Wayne has said that he wanted Em on his own album.
According to Wayne’s management, the new Weezy/Em song is called “Drop the World” and will be included on Rebirth, which is now due December 21, the same day as We Are Young Money, the family album from Wayne’s Young Money artists. Also on December 21, Em will re-release Relapse, subtitled The Refill, and Relapse 2 is due sometime next year.
Amazon UK posted a track list for Rebirth on Monday (November 30), but Wayne’s label would not confirm the lineup. That track list also includes collators with NickiMinaj, KevinRudolf and Shanell.
Earlier this year, Em told radio personality Angela Yee he was definitely all for collaboration with Weezy F. Baby.
“There hasn’t really necessarily been a time for me to go to collaborate and sh– lately, because I been so locked down in the studio,” Eminem said. “But I’m open for whatever. There’s a lot of rappers in the game I respect, especially right now.”
It may not mean nothing to y’all,
understand nothing was done for me,
so i don’t plan on stopping at all,
I want this sh-t forever man, ever man, ever man,
I’m shutting sh-t down at the mall,
and telling every girl she the one for me,
and i aint even planning to call,
i want this sh-t forever man, ever man, ever man,
[Drake]
Last name ever,
first name greatest,
like a sprained ankle boy ain’t nothing to play with,
it started off local but thanks to all the haters,
i know G4 pilots on a first name basis,
and your city faded off to brown, Nino,
she insists she got more class, we know!
swimming in the money come and find me, Nemo,
if i was at the club you know I ball, Kimo,
drop the mixtape that sh-t sounded like an album
who’d have thought a country wide tour would be the outcome
labels want my name beside the X like Malcom
everybody got a deal, I did it without one,
yeah n-gga i’m about my business,
killing all these rappers you would swear I had a hit list,
everybody who doubted me is asking for forgivness,
if you aint been a part of it at least you got to witness,
b-tches,
[Chorus]
[Kanye West]
I used to have hood dreams,
big fame, big chains,
i stuck my d-ck inside this life until that b-tch came,
I went hard all fall like the ball teams,
just so I can make it rain all spring,
y’all seen my story my glory,
i had raped the game young,
you can call it statutory,
when a n-gga blow up they can build statures of me
old money Benjamin Button, whaat, nuttin,
now superbad chicks giving me macLovin,
you would think I ran the world like Michelle’s husband,
you would think these n-ggas would know me when they really doesn’t
like they was down with the old me no you f-cking wasn’t,
your’e such a f-cking loser,
he didn’t even go to class Bueller,

trade the Grammy plaques just to have my granny back,
remember she had that bad hip like a fanny pack,
chasing that stardom would turn you into a maniac,
all the way in Hollywood and I can’t even act,
they pull their cameras out and God damn they snap,
I used to want this thing forever y’all can have it back,
[Chorus]
[Lil Wayne]
Ok, hello its da martian,
space jam Jordan’s,
I want this sh-t forever wake up and smell the Garden,
fresher than the harvest
step up to the target,
if i had one guess than I guess im just New Orleans,
and I will never stop like i’m running from the cops,
hop up in my car and told my chauffeur to the top,
life is like a f-cking roller coaster then it drops,
but what should I scream for this is my theme park,
my minds shine even when my thoughts seem dark,
pistol on my side you don’t wanna hear that thing talk,
let the king talk check the price and pay attention,
Lil Wayne thats what they got to say or mention,

Im like Nevada in the middle of the summer,
i’m resting in the lead I need a pillow and a cover,
shhh, my foots sleeping on the gas,
no brake pads no such thing as last,
[Chorus]
[Eminem]
There they go, back in stadiums,
as Shady spits his flow,
nuts they go, macadamia they go so balistic yo,
we can make them look like boso’s,
he’s wondering if he should spit this slow,
f-ck no go for broke,
his cup just runneth over oh no
he aint had a buzz like this since the last time he overdosed,
they’ve been waiting patiently for Pinnochio to poke his nose,
back into the game and they know,
rap will never be the same as before,
bashing in the brains of these hoes,
and establishing a name as he goes,
the passion and the flame is ignited,
you can’t put it out once we light it,
this sh-t is exactly what the f-ck i’m talking about when we riot,
you dealin with a few true villians
whose staying inside of the booth truth spillin,
lyrics courtesy of killerhiphop.com
and spit true feelings, til our tooth fillings come flying up out of our mouths
now rewind it
payback muthaf-cka for the way you got at me so how’s it taste?
when I slap the taste out your mouth with the bass so loud that it shakes the place,
i’m hannibal lecter so just in case your thinking of saving face,
you aint gonna have no face to save by the time Im through with this place,
so Drake….
Adding another trophy to her already impressive collection, Shakira was among the winners at the 2009 Bambi Awards in Potsdam, Germany on Thursday (November 26).
Held at the Metropolis hall at Filmpark Babelsberg, the “Hips Don’t Lie” singer was crowned as the top International Pop Artist at the glitzy awards ceremony. Not only on-hand to collect her trophy, Shakira also dazzled the crowd with an energetic performance during the course of the evening’s festivities.
With stars such as Kate Winslet also in attendance, the Bambi Awards are put on by Hubert Burda Media to recognize excellence in international media and television.

Spending the day out on the red carpet, Shakira looked gorgeous as she arrived for the 2009 Bambi Awards in Potsdam, Germany on Thursday (November 26).
Held at the Metropolis hall at Filmpark Babelsberg, the “Hips Don’t Lie” singer strutted through the reception area at the annual event by Hubert Burda Media to recognize excellence in international media and television.
And with her new album “She Wolf” just recently having been released, Shakira recently dished on teaming with director Sophie Muller for her new “Did It Again” video.
“It was a collaboration between this friend of mine who’s a dancer, and me. She showed me this contemporary dance piece that was produced in Iceland. So we said, ‘Hey, maybe we could do something like this for Did It Again,’” Shakira said. “So we brought this choreographer from Iceland from this contemporary dance company, and we worked on this piece.”
The 32-year-old Colombian cutie added, “And I decided to bring a little bit of this painter, [Lawrence] Alma-Tadema, who portrays women in these bathrooms, these Turkish bathrooms, and I wanted to bring a little bit of that poetic imagery to this video. And I remember not too long ago having watched a few women turn their heads in a trans in Morocco. So we brought all these pieces — Moroccan women twirling and turning their heads, and the poetry from Alma-Tadema’s paintings, plus this Icelandic contemporary dance piece — and we mixed all these pieces together for the video.”

Eminem will release Relapse: The Refill — and notRelapse 2 — on December 21st, the rapper announced on his official website today, November 19th. The Refill will include the entire Relapse, plus seven songs that didn’t make the album. The DJ Hero exclusive “Taking My Ball” and the Drake/Lil Wayne/Kanye/Eminem collaboration “Forever” will be included on Refill, Rap-Radar reports, with the other five songs being previously unreleased. So essentially, it’s Slim Shady’s The Fame Monster.
As Rolling Stone reported in March, Eminem promised not one but two doses of the Dr. Dre-prescribed Relapse would be released in 2009, but with the scheduling of the first installment’s Refill, it appears Relapse 2 is now slotted for release in 2010. “I want to deliver more material for the fans this year like I originally planned. Hopefully these tracks on The Refill will tide the fans over until we put out Relapse 2 next year,” Eminem said. “I got back in with Dre and then a few more producers, including Just Blaze, and went in a completely different direction which made me start from scratch. The new tracks started to sound very different than the tracks I originally intended to be on Relapse 2, but I still want the other stuff to be heard.”
Eminem has reportedly been hard at work in recent months working on Relapse 2, hitting the studio with producers like Just Blaze and Mr. Porter, so 2 won’t be an all-Dr. Dre affair. “I definitely feel like I’m in a different space right now. With the last record, I think a lot of it had to do with me getting sober, my eyes being open again. With Relapse, I wanted to prove myself that I could still do it. The zany, loony, ridiculous shit, so a lot of that album is rapid-fire punch lines,” Em previously said of Relapse 2. “Now I’m at a point where I’m blessed enough to be in a position where I don’t need to put out records, but I want to.”
If you’re still upset that you won’t have Relapse 2 in time for Christmas, you can hurl obscenities at your television when Eminem performs at the American Music Awards on Sunday, November 22nd.
