January 10th, 2010 — Eminem Died 2010, Eminem died
The fact is that Eminem has not died. No Eminem is not dead in 2010, and no Eminem has not died in a car wreck. The “Eminem is dead” rumors are out on the internet again, and it doesn’t seem like this is something that is going to end anytime soon. For some reason there are a couple of web sites that want everyone to believe that Eminem has died. The Detroit rapper is doing just fine though, and it’s starting to get sad that people are falling for the rumors that these sites are spreading. It’s simply a way to draw attention to them, and in a way it has succeeded because many people on the internet tend to believe everything they read.
Eminem has a new album coming out pretty soon, and actually has a re-release of his album ‘Relapse‘ on store shelves right now. It could stand to reason that someone in his camp is spreading these rumors in order to keep the rapper in the headlines, and the free press might even lead to more album sales. It wouldn’t be the first time that someone in the industry or a publicist leaked information to the press or a web site that was intended to get the name of their artist into the news. Hopefully it’s not true in this instance, because that would be seriously crossing the line when it comes to press leaks.
It’s also starting to seem like people don’t need to search the internet when a celebrity death rumor is milling around. Next time you hear that someone with the celebrity status of Eminem has died, shoot on over to TMZ to find your information, because they are going to be the first web site to know the details. You can believe that something as big as this headline would also be over all the national news feeds as well. We won’t be linking to the sites that are faking these “death stories”, because we aren’t going to give them any additional traffic. Eminem is alive and well, and he is probably working on music to issue to the public in the near future. It’s tiring that these things keep hitting the internet, and maybe it’s time that there was some serious legislation put in place to curtail it.

Eminem fell off the radar for a few years before finally resurfacing earlier this year. He’s talked about his addiction to prescription drugs before, but we never knew to what extent it had gotten to until now.
Em says he “100 percent” identities with the late Michael Jackson, who died of acute Propofol intoxication, because he could only function or sleep if he had taken prescription medication.
He said: “When you read things about Michael Jackson it’s hard to decipher what the f**k is true, but there’s the story of how he woke up at whatever time and he needed something to go back to sleep because he had this or that and it didn’t work. That’s exactly what used to happen to me: I would take a couple of pills and I would be up an hour later and I’d want more.”
“Then I’d take more and that would be enough to maybe get me back to sleep for two more hours. Then I’d be wide awake again. So I definitely can relate, and it’s a shame if he didn’t have anybody there to just say, ‘Michael, you’re an addict, you need help.’ ”
It really is a shame that more people didn’t try to help Michael. His family said they tried to stage an intervention “once,” but they should have tried every single day because they knew how bad his addiction had gotten.
He added to Complex magazine:
“I feel better. I feel like a human being again. There was one point in time where I felt like plastic. “I think I looked plastic. My face was like fat plastic. I was eating, but the Vicodin made me hungry because it eats up your stomach lining, so you want to fill your stomach back up, but then it stops you up so you can’t s**t. That’s why I was gaining so much weight, I was just so f***ing bloated.”
We may have lost Michael, but hopefully his story will be a wakeup call to others who have spiraled out of control in regards to prescription medication.

Another posthumous honor for Michael Jackson – his classic 1983 music video “Thriller” has become the first music video to be inducted in the National Film Registry of the Library of Congress of the United States. The coordinator of the National Film Registry Preservation Board, Steve Leggitt, commented on why “Thriller” was chosen.
He stated that,
“Because of the way the recording industry is evolving and changing, we thought it would be good to go back to the development of an earlier seismic shift, which was the development of the music video”.
What makes this honor so important is that “Thriller” being included in the congress library of film will put the music video alongside other classic historic events such as original copies of classic films, TV and other recordings that have been determined as important American filmed moments. There is no denying that “Thriller” is the most mainstream, popular music video in pop culture. Michael Jackson in his prime, piping an addictive chorus while strutting around with ghouls was definitely an image that upped the bar for music videos at the time.
