Top 3 Songs From Your Grandpa’s Day That Makes Eminem Blush

Here is the list of top 3 Your Grandpa’s Day songs which would make Eminem blush .

  1. Josie Miles Terrorizes a City (”Mad Mama Blues” – 1924)
  2. osie Miles shows, female blues singers didn’t shrink from a bit of insane violence either. Josie doesn’t even need a reason. In “Mad Mama Blues” she’s out to wreck the city like Godzilla in a cocktail dress and there’s nothing you can do to stop it.

  3. King Solomon Hill Sentences a Woman to Devil Rape    (”Whoopee Blues” – 1932)
  4. “Whoopee Blues” is a song about a poor blues man having to deal with a mean mistreating woman. King Solomon Hill isn’t one to settle for mere murder though, he wants his woman sent to hell to do it with the Devil–which strikes us as just a tad judgmental.

  5. Blind Willie McTell Might Have Been a Serial Killer (”A to Z Blues” – 1956)
  6. the list of beloved blind performers is a long one, but as Blind Willie McTell proves, not all blind musicians are quite so cuddly. The blindness was the only thing that limited his carnage.

Did Rick Ross' Deeper Than Rap Flop?

281x211While Rick Ross‘ Deeper Than 50 Cent did hit #1 on the Billboard Top 200, some say the numbers were weak.

“150,000 is not a lot of copies sold on a major [label],” MTV.com reader Eagles36 wrote in. “Fifty did 691,000 his first week. Rick Ross is a joke.”

For the record, Deeper Than Rap’s first-week numbers aren’t far off from his first two LPs, both of which went in at #1. Last year’s Trilla pushed 198,000 copies in its first week, while his 2006 effort Port of Miami sold 187,000 out of the gate.

Who Benefits From Rick Ross & 50 Cent Beef?

The numbers are in. Rick Ross’ latest album, Deeper Than Rap claimed the top spot on the Billboard Top 200 charts, selling 158,000 copies in its first week—a giant feat in today’s music industry. Undoubtedly, Ross kept himself in the spotlight in the months leading up to the album’s release with a multimedia feud with 50 Cent. The war of words included songs, cartoons, YouTube clips and even a sex tape featuring the mother of one of Ross’ children.

However, a closer look reveals that no matter who comes out on top, one entity will be a bigger winner than either rapper: Universal Music Group. Universal owns Def Jam and G-Unit, the labels that Ross and 50 Cent call recording homes. A recent report in Billboard states that both men’s’ music saw an increase in sales after the beef jumped off.

The Rick Ross/50 Cent Beef Is Overrated

the-rick-ross-50-cent-beef-is-overrated.3353373.51By Ben Westhoff

We all know the beef between Rick Ross and 50 Cent is bullshit. Both rappers record for Universal Music Group labels, and both are promoting albums. 50’s Before I Self Destruct is slotted for June, and Ross’s latest, Deeper than Rap, came out in late April. With any justice, that work will cement Ross’s legacy as a flash in the pan with a poor flow and no imagination, but let’s focus on the beef for a moment.

For all of its vitriol, the two men’s modern-day rap battle was never going to turn violent. After all, Ross associate Fat Joe has already explained how these things work, admitting his own dispute with 50 in recent years was simply to help the pair “get bigger sales” and should be taken only as “entertainment.”

Akon Follows 50 Cent's Lead Into Latin Music

281x2114When 50 Cent teamed up with Wisin y Yandel to collaborate on the reggaetón duo’s single, “Mujeres en el Club,” he may have started a trend, as more urban artists seem to be popping up on Spanish-language tracks.

Now Akon has joined in, making his foray into the Latin genre by dropping not one but two new singles. The hitmaker recently recorded a remix of his latest smash “Beautiful,” featuring Spanish vocals by ex-RBD member Dulce Maria. And last week he joined Bachata stars Aventura to shoot a video in Miami for their blazing new single “All Up to You,” along with Wisin y Yandel.
